Kyle Heckman

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Kyle is the Chairman & CEO of Flatirons Bank. Prior to working at Flatirons Bank, he worked in investment banking and risk management roles at Bank of America in San Francisco and London, and in management consulting at Accenture in Denver. Returning to Boulder to join Flatirons Bank gave him the opportunity to apply his previous experience to growing a community bank focused on a common-sense approach to banking.

Kyle completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Colorado at Boulder with concentrations in Economics, Finance, and Business Administration.

Outside of Flatirons Bank, Kyle enjoys a variety of personal pursuits. As a violinist, he regularly engages in string quartet music. He is a frequent patron of orchestral performances and is the past president of the board of directors of Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also an instrument-rated private pilot, an aviation enthusiast, and a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. His favorite outdoor athletic pursuit is skiing, and he has earned the highest level of professional ski instruction certification.

  • Past council member of the Federal Reserve Bank’s regional Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council (“CDIAC”). Served three years as that district’s national representative, reporting semi-annually on community banking matters to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Bank system in Washington, DC.
  • President of the Independent Bankers of Colorado, with prior service as an elected director. Past advisory board member for the Burridge Center for Finance at the University of Colorado at Boulder's Leeds School of Business
  • Past advisory board member for the Ridge Mountain Academy in Whitefish, Montana
  • Member of the Boulder Rotary Club
