David Kinney

SVP, Chief Banking Officer

As Chief Banking Officer, David leads the overall strategic direction of the bank’s business development and client management. He joined the bank in 2013 as the VP of Commercial Lending and, through proven success, became the Chief Credit Officer before transitioning into his current role. David’s background is in community banking with a focus on small business lending and the commercial and industrial (C&I) market. With over 18 years of experience in sales leadership, managing business relationships, client portfolio management, financial analysis, and asset management, David is a proven leader who brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Flatirons Bank.

Prior to joining Flatirons Bank, David spent several years with a community bank in Atlanta, where he served in a variety of capacities including as a credit analyst and commercial relationship manager. David was also involved in assisting the bank in the acquisition and assimilation of two failed financial institutions. David earned a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is an honors graduate from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado.

Outside of his work at Flatirons Bank, David is an avid long-distance runner, golfer, and occasional skier. David also enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters, and traveling to the east and west coasts to see family and friends.
